The MMO and successor to Final Fantasy XI, Final Fantasy XIV had a disastrous launch in 2010, the same year as Final Fantasy XIII leaving a bad taste in the mouths of long-time fans. Many fans at the time couldn’t get past the linearity before the game opened up after around 50 hours of gameplay. They began it with the launch of Final Fantasy XIII, one of the most controversial entries in the series. The Final Fantasy series has had a rollercoaster of a decade.
